You can take exams to get official CERTIFICATIONS:

PROFICIENCY LEVELS:

LEVEL A1:

  • Language acquisition of words, phrases and simple sentences used in everyday life.
  • At this level, it is possible to easily interact with other people about yourself and meet immediate needs.
  • Hours of study required to achieve this level: around 90 hrs.

LEVEL A2:

  • Acquisition of the basic principles of the temporal system and the essential vocabulary used in everyday life;
  • Development of communication skills in order to perform simple daily tasks;
  • Detailed study of sentence structures and expressions such as to allow learners to participate in conversations on familiar topics and write simple texts on topics of interest;
  • Hours of study required to achieve this level: around 180 hrs.

LEVEL B1:

  • Consolidation of grammar vocabulary;
  • Introduction of the modal system;
  • Development of communication skills, with special attention to familiar topics;
  • Acquisition of lexicon related to new subjects aimed at achieving greater linguistic accuracy;
  • Development of written and oral communication skills on topical issues and areas of interest.
  • Hours of study required to achieve this level: around 350 – 400 hrs.

LEVEL B2: Learners can achieved it by:

  • Improving their ability to understand a language and express their opinion about a wide range of topics at standard level;
  • Writing texts of a certain length about topics related to personal interest and current affairs;
  • Applying qualitative and quantitative methods in order to improve the 4 essential skills (speaking, writing, reading and listening);
  • Improving writing accuracy and speaking fluency;
  • Gaining wider knowledge of foreign language vocabulary and syntactic and grammatical structures through the use of authentic materials from different sources such as newspapers, books, movies, television and radio broadcasts.;
  • Hours of study required to achieve this level: around 750 hrs.

LEVEL C1:

  • Further improvement of the 4 main linguistic skills (speaking, writing, reading and listening) to achieve this level;
  • Wider knowledge of foreign language vocabulary and syntactic and grammatical structures;
  • Improvement of stylistic skills, including register, terminology and figures of speech;
  • Knowledge of non-standard language, regional variations with special attention to regional accents and speech speed, through the use of material from different sources such as newspapers, books, movies and television and radio broadcasts.
  • Hours of study required to achieve this level: around 1.500 hrs.

LEVEL C2:

  • Training and further improvement of the 4 language skills (speaking, writing, reading and listening) in order to fully understand everything heard or read without any effort;
  • Summarizing information and arguments from different spoken and written sources and presenting them coherently in the argumentative and informative parts;
  • Expressing their ideas spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations;
  • Hours of study required to achieve this level: around 3.000 hrs.
